It started years ago when my 5th grade teacher told her students to do what you love and you will never work a day in your life. That resonated with this small town country kid along with the fact that working in the tobacco fields STINKS!!! Those few words led me here today enjoying what I do best. This is why I invest time influencing young minds to believe in their God-given gifts and hopefully leave a similar impact.
I’m definitely a people person and never meet a stranger. This quality worked very well for me when I was a visual journalist at major news organizations and carried over with me into product design. I obsess over pixels, alignments and negative spaces. I own my decisions and learn quickly from failures. I believe no matter what the challenge is, there are solutions.
My ‘why’. My family strengthens attributes in me that makes me a successful designer such as listening, empathy and patience.
I enjoy volunteering at my son’s school and participating in career days at other schools.
Investing time with kids make a huge difference.
I’m a big music fan and collect vinyl records. I listen to all types of music - especially jazz, soul, house, lounge, and reggae.
